CATS/ HANDPAINTING BODYSUITS

In January I helped out on the production of Cats which was performed at Arts Ed by the musical theatre students. This was the first time that Cats has been performed by a drama school. I worked with Junko, the designer, on the lycra bodysuits to create the illusion of fur and tones of the cats. We had the original costumes to look at and to use as a guide as to how we would make ours look. Although we had to make our suits look similar to the originals, we also had to make sure we didnt copy the costumes! We used air guns to spray the tones of the suits with silk paint. We then used fabric pens to draw on details of the fur.
